Your family holidays in Tyrol
Do you and your children love nature? Then there is no better destination for your family holidays than Tyrol! The majestic Alps, the green pastures, the crystal clear mountain lakes, and, in winter, the snow-covered landscapes ... Spend a holiday together with your loved ones in Gerlos, a beautiful village in Tyrol at 1,300 metres above sea level, surrounded by the Kitzbühl Alps and the Hohe Tauern Nature Reserve.
There are a number of ways to take advantage and make the most of our close proximity to Central Europe’s largest national park: Combine your holidays in Gerlos with winter sports – the entrance to the ski area ZILLERTAL ARENA (with 170 km of slopes) is right next to the hotel. You can also work on your inner self and relax without apology. We are known as the best Ayurveda and yoga hotel in all of Austria. Check it out and bring your family along – we offer special yoga sessions where children are welcome to participate.
Please note that we do not have any children’s facilities in the hotel itself. Nevertheless, your kids are welcome to participate in the village’s entertainment programme with professional supervisors.
Ayurveda during a Tyrolean family holiday
Our lives are fast-paced, with ever-growing needs, more and more stress, and less time for ourselves. Even children can be influenced and affected by this hectic lifestyle at an early age. But that does not have to be the case! Learn to listen more to your body and introduce your children to this art. A family holiday is the best time to do so!
Mental and physical vitality are the basis for a holistic approach to health. And there is hardly a better way than the millennia-old Ayurveda philosophy.
The Traumhotel Alpina in Tyrol offers you an extensive range of Ayurveda treatments – also for your children — with a dedicated on-site Ayurveda team, some of whom originally come from India.
Yoga on holiday – for children too
It usually takes many years to master yoga, but even beginners will feel a noticeable improvement in their well-being after the first few sessions. There’s no better time to start than now. So what do you think about yoga with your children? All guests are welcome to join our yoga sessions – no matter whether you’re a beginner or advanced, an adult or child!
As part of our activity programme, beginners receive everything they need (mat, pillow, etc.) and can get a first impression of the traditional Indian teaching. Our certified yoga instructors will provide support and guidance.
Skiing with the family in Tyrol
Situated in beautiful Tyrol, our hotel has plenty to offer skiers of all ages! The whole family can experience an unforgettable skiing holiday with us in Gerlos. The Zillertal Arena is located right next to the hotel, and many slopes are ideal for children who have limited skiing experience. Numerous children’s ski schools are also available, and there are also plenty of adventure spots for all kinds of family fun: for example, your children can hone their skills in the Funpark Hochkrimml or really let off steam in the Action Park.
Tobogganing fun for children and adults
For families, we particularly recommend the toboggan run in the Gerlosstein ski area, which is only 30 minutes away from our ski hotel in the Zillertal valley. It is the longest toboggan run in the Zillertal valley with a length of 7 km. It is also illuminated until 1:00 a.m. You can reach the start at 1,650 m above sea level quickly and easily with the Gerlossteinbahn cable car.
There are also other wonderful toboggan runs close to the hotel for you and your family - with varying lengths and degrees of difficulty. For an exciting family holiday in Tyrol!
Tyrolean family holidays in summer
Winter is not the only season for family holidays at our Tyrolean Traumhotel. There is a lot to experience here and in the surrounding area in summer too.
The following day trips are especially popular among families:

- Gerlos high ropes course: Experience dizzying heights with your children. With 55 stations, this high ropes course is one of the most diverse in Tyrol.
- Arena Coaster: This 1,450-metre-long Alpine roller coaster is not something you want to ride just once – great fun for all ages!
- Riederklamm adventure garden: If you like climbing, this is the right place for you. The practice via ferrata at the Riederklamm offers routes for every level of difficulty, which means it’s also suitable for beginners and children.
