The heights of winter fun: the Gerlos pass
The Gerlos pass, also known as “Pinzgauer Höhe”, connects Gerlos and Pinzgau. In winter, it gives your holiday in Gerlos an extra-special touch, as you’ll find a fantastic ski area here with 150 kilometres of slopes between 1,300 and 2,600 metres above sea level – meaning snow is guaranteed until mid-April. On the northern side of the ski area, the slopes are arranged in such a way that you can enjoy day tours from the Gerlos pass via Königsleiten and Kreuzjoch to Zell am Ziller. Along the way, you’ll be treated to unique panoramas and have the chance to recharge your batteries at rustic huts. The individual departure points and ski lifts are conveniently linked by public buses.

Somewhat more challenging are the Lackenalm trail to the snack station, and from there the high-altitude trail to the Issalm.
